A representative from Abacus Guardian recently visited a fishmonger to discuss their temperature controls.
They asked the fishmonger how he kept track of the temperature his stock was kept at, and was told that they had a system in place. He was taken to the fishmonger’s storage unit, which was full of wires that lead to an office, and was informed that when the temperature rose or dropped outside of the set guidelines, alarms went off in this office.
The rep then asked if the office was manned 24 hours a day – to which the fishmonger replied “no”. This meant that 50% of the time, the temperature could have drifted outside of the safe parameters without anybody ever knowing. Further to this, a power cut would have meant that nobody was aware of a problem – and even if they were, nothing could be done without being in the office.
Needless to say, the fishmonger was impressed with the Abacus Guardian wireless temperature monitoring system, which allows you to remotely monitor the temperature of any room, cabinet or storage area, alerting you if the temperature drops or rises out of the set parameters.
